2008 Scholarship Program Qualifications

TO QUALIFY THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS MUST BE MET:
  1. An applicant must be of direct lineage of a member in good standing of a filia lodge, Grand Lodge of Rhode Island for one year prior to the application deadline. Direct lineage shall be construed to mean a child or grandchild whether through bloodline or adoption
  2. An applicant must be graduating from a secondary school in June 2008
  3. An applicant must have an acceptance to a school of higher learning offering an undergraduate program leading to a diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s degree
  4. An applicant must intend to enroll in such, program in the fall of 2008
  5. An applicant must be willing to participate in an oral competition
  6. An applicant must complete a written composition not to exceed 300 words stating educational goals and objectives
  7. An applicant must attach the Front Page of the 2008-2009 Student Aid Report (SAR) FAFSA form, to their application
  8. An applicant who has received 70% of their first year’s tuition from other grants and scholarships prior to the competition shall he declared ineligible
  9. An applicant must complete the application in full and forward it by May 1,2008
